My core expertise is in decision making, in particular the role of ethical values in business decisions. I propose theories, models, frameworks, concepts, tools and experiences to improve decision-making in the presence of dilemmas between economic, environmental, social and individual values.
I teach business at University Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain) where I am Associate Professor and at INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France) where I am Visiting Professor of ethics. I am currently the Director of the MBA full time at Pompeu Fabra.
I teach about ethical rationality, value-based strategic management and leadership, rcommunication in ethical crisis, corporate social responsibility, codes of conduct or e-business ethics.
At the theoretical level, I do research on the rationality of human behaviour. Studying the mathematical foundations of the theory of choice, I use axiomatic and experimental methods to better reveal the subjectivity of human behaviour.

I hold a Ph.D. from INSEAD in Decision Sciences (1999). I have graduated from the Paris Graduate Management School (ESCP) in 1991 and have a two-year undergraduate degree in mathematics from University Paris VI (1986).
Before becoming an academic scholar, I have been « New Applications Manager » for Ion Beam Applications, a Belgian high-tech company producing and selling particle accelerators and have been « Chargé d’Affaires » for the international development of the refining and distribution branch of the oil company Elf Aquitaine. I gained much experience in business ethical issues in the latter job, in particular through what has been called the "Elf Affair".
I am also a rock-climber of deep passion. I have been climbing all my life and have extensively travelled, opening and repeating some of the most renowned and hardest climbing routes in the world. I currently live in Barcelona with my wife and our two daughters.
